Enjoyed that and as a strong supporter of our forces, makes me happy knowing that Ant is doing well for himself now, as I know it's bloody difficult for a lot of them when back in civvy street.

Especially after a lot of the fucked up stuff they've seen and done.

Oh yeah.... They would never have achieved it without Conrad. Absolutely amazing to see him working out his charts using the sun.

I can understand his eagerness to smash on but it would've been suicide. I think in the cold light of day he knew that. Ant said it wasn't about racing it was survival.

I just thought about how boring it must've been to be floating aimlessly for three days on a mill-pond. Fuck that!!

Re: Mutiny, Channel 4
If they had not have taken the water on board that young lad would have been off the boat... he was on his way out big time... incredible the weather that last 300 miles...the sea looked like a mirror... read an article saying that Ant lost 3.5 stone on the journey and the Doc' lost 4 stone... fuck that !!

Re: Mutiny, Channel 4
Russ, that Conrad's a brilliant sailor and clearly wanted to get on with it but like you say they wouldn't have got far rowing in the shape they were in. its a brilliant achievement even with some supplied water

A leader of me. Just deal with it and move on. I mean, it was ok Conrad giving it large about rowing but how can emaciated men row a boat in 50 degree heat. Barmy.

Re: Mutiny, Channel 4
You could see the pain in Ant's face when the doc from the support boat was begging them to drink. He desperately wanted to do it the proper way just like Bligh did with no help. The only consolation was the freak weather they had...Three days like a mill pond in the South Pacific. Almost unheard of. Truly bad luck.

For me it takes nothing away from what they achieved.

Must admit when he named his new nipper 'Bligh' that bought a tear to the eye.

What an adventure and series.

Re: Mutiny Channel 4
Really?
I must have missed those, luckily.
Part of me is always inspired by those and stories like Christopher McCandless (Into the wild) who just fuck off and live without nothing.
Then the other part kicks in and says where would i get Topics from and T-Bone steak Roysters so it looks like I'm confined to random adventures like i already do.

Couldn't remember his name at all.
That was another great series.
